Crafting the Ultimate Custom EMF100: Inspired by Tyler Rake’s Rifle in Extraction

Matthew Biga |

When MFM.Bishop of Magfed Monsters approached us with the vision of recreating a firearm inspired by Tyler Rake’s iconic BCM CQB-11 rifle in the action-packed movie Extraction (2020), we knew this project was going to be both challenging and exciting. Combining cinematic inspiration with the technical performance of the EMF100, this custom build blends functionality, style, and a nod to one of the most memorable movie firearms.

From Concept to Completion: Transforming the EMF100

We started with the Planet Eclipse EMF100, a marker known for its adaptability, reliability, and performance. The base marker provided the perfect foundation to replicate the sleek yet rugged design of Tyler Rake’s rifle. Using a modular approach, we combined premium components to enhance the aesthetics, ergonomics, and performance of the build.

The Foundation: MCS100 Body Kit and STNGR VLCN Handguard

To set the tone for the build, we incorporated an MCS100 body kit, providing a robust platform for customization. This upgrade allowed us to integrate the STNGR VLCN handguard—a standout feature that mimics the handguard seen in Extraction. The 10.5-inch VLCN handguard offered plenty of space for M-LOK attachments, staying true to the movie's tactical look while maintaining a lightweight feel.

Stock and Air System: Comfort and Efficiency

For the rear, we opted for a First Strike Vice stock paired with a CS Magfed Innovations air stock adapter. This setup mirrored the compact profile of the rifle used in the movie, making the marker more maneuverable while offering excellent balance. The addition of a 13/45 PowAir HPA tank was chosen to complement the air stock adapter, ensuring ample air supply without compromising ergonomics. To maximize air efficiency, we included a Ninja SLP (Super Low Pressure) regulator, taking full advantage of the EMF100’s Whisper Drive system for quieter operation and improved consistency.

Trigger and Lower Ergonomics: Performance Meets Style

For a splash of personality, we installed a red Infamous Murder Machine trigger. This upgrade not only improved trigger performance but also added a striking contrast to the tan and black color scheme. The HRTI lower was added for its ergonomic grip and compatibility with air-through designs, ensuring that the marker remained comfortable even during extended gameplay.

Optics and Sight System: Movie-Accurate and Functional

Drawing inspiration from Extraction, we installed a NorthTac Ronin M-10 red dot sight for rapid target acquisition. To enhance versatility, we added a 45-degree offset polymer iron sight, which serves as a backup option. While the sights are not co-witnessed, this setup ensures adaptability in various scenarios, just like Tyler Rake’s rifle in the film.

Barrel and Muzzle: Precision with Style

For precision and versatility, we used the Planet Eclipse S63 Tactical barrel system, featuring a rifled insert optimized for First Strike rounds. To complete the tactical appearance, we added a ported Lapco mock suppressor, which not only enhances the sleek silhouette of the build but also reduces the sound signature—a feature that ties back to the quiet but deadly aesthetic of the Extraction rifle.

Reloading Efficiency: HRTI Stingray Mag Release

The HRTI Stingray Mag Release was a must-have addition, enabling faster, more efficient reloads while maintaining alignment with the optics. This upgrade enhances gameplay efficiency and reinforces the practical, operator-focused approach inspired by the film.

Custom Accessories: Utility and Style

Staying true to the movie’s aesthetic, we added BCM M-LOK rail panels for improved grip and heat dispersion. A Streamlight ProTac weapon light was mounted to the handguard with a pressure pad for easy activation, ensuring practicality in low-light situations—just as Tyler Rake needed during his missions.

Before-and-After Transformation: A Cinematic Journey

The transformation of the marker from its stock state to its current form is striking. The base EMF100 was a reliable starting point, but the final product is a fully customized masterpiece that looks ready to star in its own action movie. By incorporating high-quality components and carefully considering every detail, we recreated the essence of Tyler Rake’s rifle while maintaining the unique capabilities of the EMF100 marker.

Conclusion: Bringing Your Vision to Life

This custom EMF100 build not only pays homage to Extraction but also demonstrates what’s possible when you combine creativity with performance-focused upgrades. Whether you’re inspired by a movie firearm or have your own vision in mind, we’re here to make it a reality. Let’s build something extraordinary together.
