Das Problem mit Leuchtpunktvisieren ist, dass ein großer Punkt im Nahbereich zwar gut ist, aber auf Entfernungen über 90 Meter weniger nützlich ist, da der Punkt zu groß für präzises Zielen wird. Ein kleiner Punkt in Verbindung mit einer Lupe behebt dieses Problem, ist aber beim Schnappschuss auf kurze Distanz langsamer zu erfassen. Das ACSS-Absehen verwendet einen großen Winkel, den das Auge beim Schießen aus nächster Nähe sehr gut erkennt. Auf größere Entfernungen ist die Spitze des Winkels ein unendlich kleiner Zielpunkt, perfekt für präzise Schüsse.

Mit „Null“-Reichweiten von 25, 50 oder 100 Yards ist das ACSS BDC mit den folgenden Kalibern kompatibel:
