The handguard is an essential piece to any AR-15 custom build. Some of the most popular types of handguards are the freefloat handguards. These types of handguards cover the barrel of the gun and attach to the upper receiver by a barrel nut. Handguards on an AR-15 build perform many crucial functions. One of these functions is that of protecting the shooter's hand from the heat of the barrel. The handguard also provides something to hold on to which gives increased stability to the shooter. Each handguard comes with attachment points for sights/optics while still saving space for additional accessories to be attached which can add to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

About this Handguard: The "Tone" from Gauntlet Arms is an AR-15 Freefloat Handguard 10" long and machined with a M-Lok accessory mounting system.
Mounting System: To provide firm and simple mounting of different accessories in a variety of different positions, the "Tone" takes advantage of the M-Lok mounting system
Cuts: In order to keep structural integrity intact while still saving weight, Oblong cuts were designed into this "Tone" handguard.
Anti Rotation Tabs: This AR-15 Freefloat Handguard comes with anti-rotation tabs. These anti-rotation tabs are used to maintain alignment between the upper rail of the handguard and the upper rail of the upper receiver. Anti-rotation tabs are most commonly used with Mil-Spec or forged AR-15 upper receivers due to the fact that AR-15 uppers machined from billet aluminum are too narrow for them to fit.
Material of Handguard: Due to the need to have light yet strong handguards, the Gauntlet Arms "Tone" AR-15 freefloat handguard is constructed from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum extrusion.
Finish: Type 3 hardcoat anodizing is used with the (Model) handguard to increase corrosion resistance.
QD: To simplify the attachment/detachment of your sling, the "Tone" handguard comes with 4 QD mounts already machined into it.
