O problema com miras de ponto é que um ponto grande é ótimo de perto, mas menos útil a distâncias superiores a 100 jardas, porque o ponto torna-se demasiado grande para apontar com precisão. Um ponto pequeno usado em conjunto com um amplificador resolve esse problema, mas é mais lento para adquirir em disparos rápidos a curta distância. O retículo ACSS usa um grande chevron que o olho capta muito facilmente para disparos próximos. Em distâncias maiores, a ponta do chevron é um ponto de mira infinitamente pequeno, perfeito para tiros precisos.

Usando alcances "zero" de 25, 50 ou 100 jardas, o ACSS BDC é compatível com os seguintes calibres:
